Ambition reaches half a million young people every year across the UK. For more than 90 years they have been giving young people the chance of a better future. Today Ambition is an entrepreneurial, fast paced organisation enabling others to thrive through strategic support, funding opportunities and accredited training. Their national network of members includes youth clubs, community projects, local authorities and housing associations. Through high quality programmes and innovative partnerships, they enable young people to do better at school, find employment and improve their health and wellbeing by developing confidence, life skills and resilience.
Ambition mandated Prospectus to lead the Chief Executive search. They asked us to identify a skilled strategic leader to further develop Ambition’s impact, building on their significant achievements to grow and strengthen programmes, diversify income, and strengthen cross-sector relationships. Additionally, candidates were required to evidence strong financial judgement, experience of shaping public policy and an ability to work collaboratively internally and externally. We carried out a national search supplemented by an online advertising campaign.
Emma Revie joined Ambition as Chief Executive in August 2016. Emma spent her early career with IBM before transferring her experience in customer/supporter services to international development charity Tearfund, where she gained excellent insight into fundraising. Most recently Managing Director for Reynolds Training, a highly successful business, Emma was responsible for designing and implementing a Government and privately funded training and apprenticeship programme for young people. Emma is passionate about building capacity and quality across youth services and is interested in how to affect change at a national policy level. She was impressed with Ambition’s work and inspired by their strategy to achieve increased impact for young people across the country.
