The Head of Organisational Development & Learning is a pivotal role for Citizens Advice, tasked with implementing a cohesive talent management strategy across the national organisation and the network of local Bureaux. They were looking for an individual to review the way the organisation worked in partnership on a national level, and support leaders to lead effectively and manage operational change. Our brief was to find a candidate with a strategic approach, combined with the ability to undertake operational delivery, as well as an innovative approach to navigating and resolving complex and ambiguous situations.
This role elicited over 80 applications from a variety of Learning and Organisational Development professionals, across multiple sectors. Following Prospectus selection and assessment, Citizens Advice interviewed 6 candidates.
The appointed candidate had held various senior L&D roles within large, complex organisations, managing over 400 staff and significant budgets. He was responsible for introducing new training technologies, and designing and delivering a well-renowned apprenticeship programme. His previous roles saw him work across both the public and not-for-profit sectors, bringing this wide-ranging knowledge to Citizens Advice.
