Prospectus is pleased to announce that John Herriman has been appointed as Greenhouse Sports’ new Chief Executive, taking the reins from co-founder and current Chief Executive Michael de Giorgio in August 2016.
Chair of Greenhouse Sports Trustee Board Jeffrey Berman said:
“Finding a successor to a co-founder and Chief Executive as dedicated and inspirational as Michael de Giorgio was never going to be easy and therefore the Trustees are particularly pleased we were able to persuade John to become our new CEO. His blend of skills and experiences – heading operations of the diving and bomb disposal group in a 20 year naval career, followed by several years in the commercial sector and more recently working closely with head teachers – makes him ideally suited to take on the challenging role of leading Greenhouse Sports. We have every confidence his experience and leadership will help guide Greenhouse Sports forward in this exciting stage of our development.”
John Herriman joins Greenhouse Sports from the Association of Head Teachers, where he was Executive Director.
Greenhouse Sports has gone from strength to strength since it was founded more than a decade ago, engaging young people through sport, and identifying inspirational coaches to act as role models for children in some of London’s most disadvantaged communities.
Director of Executive Search at Prospectus Borge Andreassen said:
“Greenhouse Sports does really fantastic and impactful work with young people across London. We are truly delighted to have been working with Jeffrey Berman and his Board colleagues on the search, and would like to congratulate John Herriman on his appointment.”
