UK Community Foundations (UKCF) is an ambitious and innovative organisation placed at the heart of the rapid growth in the past ten years in local philanthropy and the community foundation network. It is a small and influential umbrella organisation for a membership network of 48 community foundations that cover the whole of the UK, managing £450m of endowed donor funds and investing around £65m per annum in grants into local charities from individuals, families, corporations, government, the public sector and trusts.
The Operations Director role is critical within UKCF, working closely with the Chief Executive to drive business development, create opportunities by identifying new ways of working and providing clients a better insight into what their programmes are achieving for them. Candidates needed to have proven programme management and business development experience, combined with an interest in community philanthropy and the personal qualities to engage with a wide range of audiences.
Time was of critical importance in this recruitment, and Prospectus utilised a hybrid approach of advertising, networking and database search. Five candidates were presented to and interviewed by UKCF.

He comes to UKCF from Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) in the United States, where he was a senior member of the investment team responsible for executing strategy and directing investment operations and communications in support of £3 billion in charitable assets under management. Previously, he worked in private banking, advising a variety of clients including individual and corporate donors, private foundations, non-profits, professional advisors and family offices.
