Philanthropy Podcast: Climate Philanthropy

Our Philanthropy Podcast series, brought to you by Catalytica Consulting and Prospectus, is a series where we delve into vital issues for the philanthropic sector with inspirational and innovative leaders.

Hosted by Olaf and Borge, our second episode is focused on climate philanthropy – a relatively new aspect of philanthropic engagement. Due to the diligent work of many, including the worldwide philanthropic community, the previous few decades have seen great advances in social justice and improved living standards. However, as the earth warms, these hard-won advantages are jeopardised. Climate change is already exacerbating existing disparities and making the challenges which societies face today and, in the future, even more difficult to address. This is a major reason why philanthropists have started to look at ways of how to engage in this context.

We are so pleased to welcome two distinguished guests to this episode to get deeply explore the topic of climate philanthropy: Caroline Mason, the CEO of the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation – one of the largest independent funders in the United Kingdom, and Nathalie Moral, the CEO of the Clima Now Foundation which is a relatively new foundation based in Switzerland, and is entirely focused on climate.
